Baptism
Overview
Baptism is the beginning of our faith and our gateway into the Church. It is the first of three Sacraments of Initiation. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word”. (CCC 1213)
Baptism:
A Public Declaration of Faith
Baptism is a beautiful and powerful step in the life of every believer — an outward expression of an inward transformation. At Riverwood Church, we believe baptism is a joyful response to God’s saving grace, a symbol of being raised to new life in Christ. It’s not about having everything figured out, but about surrendering your life to Jesus and making your faith known to the world. Whether you’ve recently committed your life to Christ or have been walking with Him for years and are ready to take this step, baptism is a meaningful way to proclaim your story of faith.
We welcome individuals of all ages who are ready to take this step of obedience and celebration. Our team will guide you through every part of the process, from understanding the Biblical foundation of baptism to preparing for the special day itself. Baptism at Riverwood isn’t just a tradition — it’s a milestone we celebrate together as a church family, rejoicing in the work God is doing in your life. If you’re considering baptism or want to learn more, we would be honored to walk with you.
